About Bactiquick
Created to make microbiological information useful while decisions are still being made.
Laboratory testing provides vital evidence, but its turnaround can leave people making immediate water-quality decisions without current microbiological information.
Bactiquick was created to close that operational gap: giving teams information at the point of sampling so they can investigate changing conditions, decide what to do next and focus further testing where it matters most.

The company behind Bactiquick
Developed by Molendotech from decades of microbiology and immunology research.
Bactiquick was developed by Molendotech Limited, the UK science and technology company founded by Professor Simon Jackson. His work across microbiology, immunology, bacterial molecules and endotoxins led to a clear challenge: translate complex laboratory research into a field-ready way for people to assess bacterial risk while the information can still influence what happens next.
The founder’s story explains how that research progressed into the practical Bactiquick system used outside the laboratory today.
From research to practical use
A scientific concept translated into a straightforward commercial system.

The compact, rechargeable Tester is designed for repeated use wherever samples are collected. Single-use Bacterisk reagent tubes provide a consistent testing format, while the connected app supports result and location recording.
Together, these components make the underlying research practical for routine field work—portable enough to carry between sites and simple enough to support a repeatable operating process.
Why Bactiquick is important to New Zealand
Local conditions make informed field decisions especially valuable.
New Zealand organisations often monitor dispersed sites, travel long distances and wait 24 hours or more for laboratory results. That delay can leave teams without current microbiological information while they are still onsite and able to act.
Bactiquick provides a real-time field result that enables informed field decisions about where to investigate, resample, isolate, manage or escalate next, while laboratory testing continues to provide the formal evidence required by existing regulatory and operational systems.

Bactiquick in New Zealand
Introduced and supported by Taranaki Applied Innovation Centre Limited.
Taranaki Applied Innovation Centre Limited (TAIC) connects, enables, develops and accelerates science and technology from its New Plymouth base.
TAIC is Bactiquick’s New Zealand distributor and local commercial partner, bringing together product access, customer onboarding, application support and the relationships needed to translate an international water-testing innovation into practical use across New Zealand.
Customers can access a local team that will discuss the problem first, help assess fit, support implementation and provide ongoing commercial and product assistance.
